It's easy to ridicule hipsters as same-dressing, trend-following, white-man's-burden-bemoaning twits, but what to make of those who take up the foodmaking crafts of yore? In Brooklyn is a whole community of Slow Food advocates who don't just patronize restaurants or wax poetic about heirloom this-and-that, they actually produce products like chocolate, butchered meats, and cheese in the quest for great taste and conscious living.
